Home Network Diagram

This diagram illustrates direct connection with a wireless router. See the detailed description of this layout. Here are some terms and definitions that will help you get familiarized with you home network.

Computer:A computer is a programmable machine that receives input, stores and manipulates data, and provides output in a useful format
laptop Laptop:is a personal computer designed for mobile use. A laptop integrates most of the typical components of a desktop computer, including a display, a keyboard, a pointing device (a touchpad and/or a pointing stick) and speakers into a single unit
network Computer Network:is a collection of computers and devices connected by communications channels that facilitates communications among users and allows users to share resources with other users to share resources.
Router:a device that forwards data packets between computer networks.
wireless router1 Wireless Router:A wireless router is a device that performs the functions of a router but also includes the functions of a wireless access point. It is commonly used to allow access to the Internet or a computer network without the need for a cabled connection.
Cable Modem Cable Modem:A device that uses a cable TV signal to connect a computer to the Internet. Cable modems offer download speeds of up to 50Mbps and upload speeds of up to 10Mbps
rj45-2 Ethernet Cable:A cable used to connect computers, hubs, switches, routers, etc. to a network. They resemble a large phone cable. This cable is also known as RJ45.
